Was ist der ZEITTER?
Der ZEITTER: Er lässt eine Zeitspanne als Ablauf in unbekannter Weise erfassen und darstellen, was sonst vom Menschen in dieser Form nicht wahrgenommen werden kann.
Das Verhältnis von Zeit, Raum und Körper erfährt eine Verschiebung: Weg vom singulären Verständnis, hin zu einem 'polynomischen' Zeit-Körper-Raum-Gefüge. Eine Selbstbefragung des Körpers, sein Bezug zum Raum und seine Stellung zur Zeit wird durch den Vorgang des ZEITTERs ausgelöst.

Wie funktioniert der ZEITTER?
Der ZEITTER stellt eine Mischform von Video- und Fotografie dar. Entgegen- gesetzt zu einer herkömmlichen Kamera werden eine Vielzahl von einzelnen Zeitmomenten aufgenommen und zu einem Gesamten zusammengefügt. Die erfassten Bilder können direkt von den Passanten betrachtet werden.

Was für eine Rolle spielen die Passanten beim ZEITTER?
Mit dem Koffern stellen wir einen Rahmen zur Verfügung, wie dieser genutzt wird ist abhängig von der Interaktion der BesucherInnen. Der ZEITTER erstellt alle zwei Minuten ein Bild – ein gesteuerter Zufall. Es sind die Passanten, die durch ihre An- und Abwesenheit das Bild gestalten.

Wo war der ZEITTER?
In Berlin zum ersten Mal im Juli 2000 der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. Weitere Reisedestinationen waren die Viper '00 und das PlugIn in Basel, Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, die HfG Karlsruhe und das internationale Filmfestival in Split '01, als auch am FCMM in Montreal.

Im 2007 wird ZEITTER in der Ausstellung "On Time" im Museum für Gestaltung und in der Skulpturengalerie in Zürich ausgestellt sein.

     What is the ZEITTER?
With a better grasp of time than we mere humans, the ZEITTER is able to perceive time in a manner we can only begin to visualize with its help.
A normal camera transforms the three dimensions of space into the two dimensions of a photographic print. The ZEITTER extends this to encompass the fourth dimension of time.

How does the ZEITTER function?
The ZEITTER is a combination of video technology and photography. Whereas a traditional camera captures a single point in time, the ZEITTER captures a sequence of points in time and synthesizes them into a new whole. The result of this synthesis is then immediately made available to the visitors.

What role does the visitor play?
The suitcase places the choice of location in the visitor's hands. How this is made use of is up to you. Every two minutes the suitcase takes another picture: controlled contingency. The presence or absence of visitors determines the resulting pictures.

Where has the ZEITTER been?
The first public appearance came in July 2000 at the Emballage in Berlin, a theater festival and symposium. Further appearance were at the Viper '00 festival and at the PlugIn in Basel, Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, HfG Karlsruhe and at the international filmfestival '01 in Split, as well as at the FCMM in Montreal.

In 2007 ZEITTER will be represented at Museum of Design exhibition "On Time" and at the Skulpturengalerie in Zürich
