Annotated bibliographyThe bibliography is broken down into four subheadings that list books, articles in periodicals and in the Internet on new media art, focussing on aspects of net-based art. The selected publications deal with curatorial, conservational and legal questions, as well as the broader contexts of the economy, discussions on art and media theory. Many articles are directly accessible by links. Examples of digital art & video displays in art and design exhibitions
This collection of photos showing projections and other electronic displays was gathered informally at art and design exhibitions in the course of the project. Images from the internet complete this documentation. Wall console
Together with the designer Regula Büchel and the Basel tweaklab company, we have developed a space-saving wall console with integrated minicomputer, keyboard and track ball, for interactive, keyboard- or mouse-controlled artwork. The wall console’s first application in exhibitions is shown here. Conference on June 21 2007 at Plug.in Basel
This page contains images and audio-files of lectures given at a research conference in the framework of the Owning Online Art project. In addition to the members of the research team, there were four artists, each of whom elaborated a work of special interest to the project. In brief talks, the participants presented the state of their research, their work or concept of the art work. Online exhibitions
Owning Online Art compared the qualities of web-based pieces of art to those of conventional art works. Here, the question also arose whether presentation forms exist on the Internet which simulate the succession of rooms of architecturally structured art exhibitions, and which requirements must be met so that the combination of several web-based works becomes readable on-line as an exhibition. As part of Owning Online Art, Esther Hunziker set out in search of examples. Screensaver
With today's screen and computer technology, screensavers are actually no longer needed: Stationary images do not attack the surface of monitor tubes any more. Artists made use of this format as early as the 1980s. As small web-based works, screensavers easily found their audience via standard interfaces. For Owning Online Art, Beo von Arx compiled examples, links and notes for reprogramming. Online Payment Systems
There are countless possibilities to pay for products or services online. For Owning Online Art, Beo on Arx has assembled corresponding information.
